While everyone is criticizing By-law and the RCMP for this take down, the 65 year old man commented on the original video and described what happened. He admitted to failing to show identification and resisted arrest. On top of that, he assaulted the Peace Officer and still would not comply. The officer was within his right to place the man on the ground to arrest him. Regardless of age, you can never assault an officer of the law, then where do we draw the line? Its Yellowknife, its a small knit community and when a distress call is made by an officer, you can expect a large force to show up. You sit there on your computers in a safe home and call these men and women pigs and call their work disgusting but when shit hits the fan in your life and you dont know what to do, you call the police. My point is, respect the men and women who serve and protect, not all of them are perfect and neither are you.
