While in my Italian II class today, I received a text message from my parents saying that the College of Woosters admissions official had called and wished for me to contact him as soon as I was out of class. I assumed the worst, and it seemed unlikely, but I have been accepted into the College of Wooster as a History/Classics double-major to pursue, more specifically, British History and the various Classical Studies (Classical Philology, Linguistics, Ancient Greco-Roman History/Greek and Latin literature, mythology, and poetry, etc.). It is my dream undergraduate school, and to have been so warmly accepted after first denying my opportunity out of HS, is something for which I am immensely grateful. When I couldnt have been more ecstatic, I was then informed I will be awarded a $17,000 annual scholarship, which will save me an entire years worth of tuition. With $54,000 as the annual scholarship now marked down to $37,000 is not only a relief for myself but a blessing to my family Steve Montgomery, Tracy Lawson-Montgomery, who have already given so much to me and whose burden will now be lifted. I could not be more thankful. Not only to the College of Wooster, my family, and my own hard work, but to the professors at Kent State and Stow-Munroe Falls High School who imparted me with a love for education and knowledge. Thank You, Dr. Richard Steigmann-Gall, Lisa Ann Richards, Amanda Badar, and Dr. Richard Stanislaw for guiding me to the realisation of my career/life path and the recommendations which incalculably helped me achieve my acceptance. Also, since Wooster is only 45 minutes away from home, I will be able to maintain a close proximity to my home and maintain regular activities with family and friends, and to continue to make music with my friends in The Lone Leads I am now a Fighting Scott...and I feel at home.
