While we were working on our second album, our producer Haze had written this beautiful track that needed a feature, and my mom suggested that we should try our luck by asking Sharifah Aini if she would listen to it. She almost immediately said yes to the collaboration and insisted that it remained in English, because she had longed to record an original track to call her own in the language. A few months later, we were given the opportunity to perform at our first live performance on national TV at AIM and Aunty Ani gladly agreed to be our mystery guest star, coming on stage to sing You, much to the delight of a surprised audience. She was there to introduce Too Phat to the world. A day before the show she told my mom that she wanted to braid her hair like mine so we would rock the same look on stage. This is the cool Aunty Aini I knew. When not many people believed in us, SHE did. Thank you for being such an inspiration. Thank you for the music. We will miss you sorely. Al-Fatihah.
