Whining on Wednesday: There is a similarity to 2013, 1913 and 1813. The attitudes are similar but there are definite physical changes. Funny how we have a penchant to be up on everything but the laws that govern our lives. We elect various individuals to speak for a certain group or group of people and when he/she gets to the halls of justice, he/she becomes more willing to go with the status quo as opposed to speaking for his/her constituents. I really understand why car insurance is higher in Detroit than in surrounding areas. There appears to be a rise in opiate use, at least in some of the suburbs, as evidenced by some of the recent arrests. We have lost most of one generation due to the heroin that became so prevalent in Detroit, immediately after the riot. Though most people are familiar to the ravages of meth and crack, heroin was once upon a time, a scourge of the inner city residents, not only in Detroit but in all of the large metropolitan areas from coast to coast. This election is the ideal time to get some new faces in critical positions. Know your candidates. Peace.
