Who can ever forget the events of 9/11. I was in the kitchen making pickled eggs and George was on the porch painting, then the phone rang, it was Daryl who was living in D.C. at the time. He asked if I had the T.V. on and I said know. Then he told be about the plane crashing into the World Trade building, while he was still talking, another one hit, and a while later, the one in Washington hit. I was nervous because he lived there. Later when we hung up I found out about the one in sommerset. After that, it was hard to contact him because there was so much phone activity . I knew he would be moving soon to NYC and was worried about it, but in Jan 2002 he moved there. I think of all the people who were effected by those awful events and probably still are.
