Why Blood? The average blood loss in a Normal delivery is 200 to 450 ml In a cesarean (operation) blood loss is 800 ml to 1000 ml. Postpartum Haemorrhage(PPH) can be mild, moderate or severe which is bleeding within 24hours of delivery of baby & can be a life threatening event due to acute blood loss which can be 1000 to 2000ml onwards. Secondary PPH is bleeding after 24 hours to 6 weeks after Delivery or Surgery but incidence is relatively less as compared to Primary PPH. In a pregnant mother if her basic Haemoglobin is 2 or 3 grams or has other pre existing Antepartem haemorrhage & associated illnesses what will be result out comes of her? Lesser the Haemoglobin more chances of Postpartum Bleeding or Complications. CRUX.......... No emotional attachments help at this time. Taj Mahal was Later built by Shah Jehan in the Memory of Mumtaz Mahal in 1631 during giving Birth to Her Fourteenth child as she had Haemorrhage after delivery. A favourite Film actress Sameeta Patil died because of Primary PPH Never know the pregnancy outcome of a pregnant Mother. Once a pregnant mother developed complications after Delivery was transfused 25 units of blood but thanks Allah she survived. Hope no one requires Blood Transfusion as no transfusion is good transfusion unless dire emergencies. Blood donation is a great human act considering the importance of saving the human life as every soul is important. Pregnancy is a physiological process & is not a disease. Allah Help all mothers.
