Why I want to succeed Governor Suswam by Steven Lawani, Benue - TopicsExpress

Why I want to succeed Governor Suswam by Steven Lawani, Benue State Deputy Governor “I believe that the people of this state have been listening to what we have been saying. There is need to bring equity, justice and fair play to the political equation of Benue State. So, the people are listening and are sympathetic to our cause because without Zone ‘C’; the Benue South senatorial district’s contribution, the PDP wouldn’t have won easily in 2011. Since 2009, we have worked together with our Tiv brothers in Zone ‘A’ and ‘B’ to put this PDP government in place. We believe that even the spirit of ‘you eat, allow your brothers to eat’ would make the other two zones which have produced governors since the departure of the military from the politics of this country to now give us the turn. We think the other senatorial zone which has not benefited should be considered, we are appealing, it is not force because we don’t have the numerical strength of zone ‘A’ and ‘B’. We are saying that they should allow justice, equity and fairplay. If they listen as I pray, fine but if they don’t agree, then someday, an Idoma man will become governor of this state. “In the past seven years as you know, I have been a deputy governor. I have contributed to the progress of this state by supporting Governor Gabriel Suswam to bring the state to where it is now. There are challenges facing Benue and other states in the country and I think that I’m prepared to respond to the various challenges facing us. Basically, the desire to serve my people better than I have done in these past few years is the reason why I’m putting myself forward.”
