Why are we afraid of death? Thoughts of loved ones left behind? Separation of whats comfortable? Uncertain of how death may feel? Doubt? Im guilty of this. I know Christ would say oh you of little faith. In Matthew 8:23-27 Jesus got in a boat and without question the disciples followed. Things were calm. After a while a storm began to beet the boat and toss it on the waves. The disciples gripped with fear ran to Jesus fearing death was certain. They had forgotten who they were with. Jesus. He calmed the storm and asked them where there faith had gone? They were calm in the calm times but distraught in the stressful times. When your with Jesus Its just a transition from here to there. Matthew 8:23-27 23 And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. 25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” 26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose andrebuked the winds and the sea, andthere was a great calm. 27 And the menmarveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
