Why do Nigerians take solace in lies? Does it means that it is in our blood as a foundation laid on the day we got independence? Why do we claim unnecessary and unmerited glories and praises? Timmy Danagogo was all over the media just hours ago claiming he was the person who passionately pleaded as the minister of sports to FIFA not to suspend Nigeria and allow the Falcons to honor the final encounter of the 2015 AWC. This lie never lasted more than half a day, after Paul Bassey translated the French written message sent to NFF by CAF, stating that Issa Hayatou - The CAF President - was furious at the lackadaisical way football was been handled by the glass house, and that he, Hayatou had to beg for hours, pleading with FIFA to allow Falcons honor the AWC Finals because failure to do so will affect sponsorship. So the question is - who actually pleaded on our behalf? Danagogo or Hayatou? With that kind of letter, I trust Hayatou to be saying the truth here, so why is Danagogo lying?
