Why should we have so many crocodiles out in the wild and in the - TopicsExpress

Why should we have so many crocodiles out in the wild and in the many rivers when development and progress is so little and slow in mineral-rich Sarawak? Even if they are protected, they are too much of a danger to poor villagers, regardless of race. This is not the first incident and it will not be the last. It is such an incident as this that made me allow my membership in the Malaysian Nature Society to lapse as no protected species has the right to protection if it is a menace to society such as these bloody crocodiles which try to survive perhaps with over- logging and destruction of their livelihood. The second day of our new year , Friday, 2nd January, 2015 was a tragic one for the Malay family of Idris Yaakup at Kampung Soh, off Mile 27, Kuching-Serian Road in Kuching, His horrified daughter watched as he was devoured by a man-eating crocodile in the river and with the joint efforts of nearby Kampung Panchor Baru Melayu, villagers searched and are still searching for his missing head, arms and left foot. They are also hunting for the dangerous reptile that must be killed before it goes for another victim after tasting human meat.
