Wishing my niece and God daughter Alaena Sullivan a very Happy 17th Birthday today. Shes grown from a sweet smiling little girl into a beautiful, talented, athletic and well mannered young woman, full of love for her family and friends. Along with her brother Brandon, it seems like just a short while ago, I was carrying them both in my arms or on my shoulders. I had her driving my car since she was 3 and she now has her official license and able to explore the world behind the wheel. Im still getting used to sitting in the passenger seat! Im proud to have taught her to check the sale racks when clothes shopping and loved when she would ASK ME to take her to the mall to shop! Ask her about the eye patch(panties) story sometime !! Shes a girly girl but not afraid to pitch in and get her hands dirty either to help friends and family. Shes learned alot from her mom and dad as well as all her uncles, including Joey who still guides her from Heaven. Im proud of how well shes doing in school and will be a senior this year. She has her first job and learning the value of time and effort in making some $$. So today Im remembering the phone message we received 17 years ago from Tom saying we have a baby girl (the first one in the family) as I wish my little peanut, my Alaena, my Delainers, my Lainikins, my Lainie a wonderful 17th Birthday today.
