With 1,000 new friends, in the past couple of months, I figured Id reintroduce myself, to take care of alot of questions I get in private messages. My name is Tony Tebbe, from Lovington, NM. Im a professional predator hunter thats been calling coyotes for 32 years, since the first one I called and killed when I was 14. I grew up in Illinois, and lived 10 years in Iowa for my job. When I turned 40, I walked away from Corporate America and took a huge gamble, by starting my own predator guiding business and predator calling school, Predator University (predatoruniversity). Many people in the predator hunting industry, as well as, my family thought I was crazy to chase my dream. Noone was guiding predator hunters as a full time occupation, only as a side weekend or night job. I knew that to do it right, one would have to focus all their attention on it. I trusted my calling skills, business skills, and my people skills. I had been calling all over the country, the prior 5 years, without toting a gun, just a video camera. I took way more joy in calling up predators, than I did shooting them....an natural fit for a professional guide. I had built my reputation as a custom predator call builder, with my TT Custom Predator Calls for the prior 14 years or so. Ive sold custom predator calls in 48 States, 8 Countries, across 4 Continents, calling everything from bears to dingos. When I started Predator University, I chose Lovington, NM as the place to call home, due to the small town atmosphere, huge tracks of ranch land, and the sheer amount of coyotes. Being on the border of West Texas allowed for selective hunting for bobcats and hogs, when a client specifically requests. We will be going into our 7th season, in a couple of months. Ive been fortunate that my calendar has been booked up, since day 1, for the past 6 seasons. My clients and I kill 300-500 coyotes per season, depending on drought conditions during the summer. 3 or 4 years ago, I produced the top selling instructional predator calling DVD, So, You Want To Be A Predator Caller. A 4 hour, 2 disc set that is designed to help straighten out the learning curve for those wanting to get into the sport. In addition, I run a predator calling school, which is a guided hunt that is focused on educating, as much as it is on harvesting. Most of my guiding is done right here in SE New Mexico and West Texas, but in addition, I travel to my clients location and teach them about calling in their unique situation and area. The past 5 years, I started working with coyote decoy dogs and have had a blast with it. I get just as many clients that come to see the dog work, as I do clients that want to stack coyotes up and learn more about predator calling. In addition to coyote decoy dogs, I breed, raise, and train staghounds for coursing and catching coyotes. Its a personal hobby of mine and a nice break away from calling for coyotes everyday.
