With Pre-K, Kinder, Grades 1 and 2, pencils are managed and controlled. It will be with teacher’s safekeeping and it will only be given to children to be used everytime they will write. It will again be collected. Each will be named and labeled. In grades 1 and 2, there are 2 teachers who will hold the class- one before recess and another, after recess. The 1st teacher will pass all the pencils to the next teacher. It will be sharpened for the next day’s usage and the same system will apply everyday. The parents may provide many pencils at home for follow-up exercises (at home), but in school, one is enough. One spare is fine and we suggest, unsharpened. We’re avoiding accidents caused by pencils. With higher levels, they are trained to become more responsible in handling pencils. We also encourage the use of pencils over ballpens especially if there are writing issues like properly erasing, writing on the correct lines, etc.
