With all that is going on in the world, let us not forget the heroes on the front lines. This is from a doctor and friend of mine in Sierra Leone. Please Pray for these people on the front lines. - Sam Smith Words cant describe what its like... ...to be called by a lab technician and be told that one of my close colleagues is positive for Ebola. …to call the medical superintendent to inform him of the result. …to sit in on the conversation with the brother and sister of said colleague to tell them that their sibling is positive for Ebola. …to watch from a distance as said colleague is told he is positive for Ebola. …to see him taken away in an ambulance with one of my other colleagues in full PPE, heading to the treatment centre. That was my day yesterday. Praying that this doctor makes it. Hes the 8th Sierra Leonean doctor to become infected. Colleagues went to see him today and he sounded optimistic. Of course many more nurses and other health workers have been infected. We are all so ready for this to end, but in the meantime, numbers keep increasing. 83 new confirmed cases today in Sierra Leone.
