With the 2014 HNZ Ford NHL now complete Hockey Northland would like to thank the following people. 2014 Northland Men: This years Head Coach Mick Evans came all the way from Brisbane and arrived 4 weeks before the start of the NHL. Mick was awesome and provided a professional approach to this team and also ensured there was a player development aspect to his coaching. He always had a smile on his face and he loved NZ decks. Micks Management team of Gail Ambler (Manager), James Saunders (Physiotherapist) & Lee Jones (Fitness Trainer) were awesome and we appreciated all your efforts. A special mention must go to Assistant Coach Vicki Gribble who provided the leadership to the NHL program before Micks arrival & for all the time you give up to this team and Northland Hockey. Youre a star!!! Wed also like to the Mark & Leone Neal and Grant & Adrienne McLeod for billeting Mick & the boys and Sophie Webb,Cheryl & Greg Pitman and Hadley Greenhalgh for help with the Hangi etc. 2014 NHL Women: The 2014 Mark Cromie Holden Women had an awesome tournament that saw them finish in 2nd place, this result would not have happened without the support of major sponsors Sheryl & Mark Cromie from Mark Cromie Holden. Head Coach Angeline Waetford was outstanding and like Mick provided a professional approach that ensured great team performances. Her campaign started at least 12 weeks ago and involved at least 2 practises a week. Like most coaches, Ang coaches multiple teams and volunteers huge hours to Hockey Northland. We appreciate all you do Ang!! Angs Management team of Julia Lecky (Manager), Alyse Morgan (Physiotherapist) & John Renes (Fitness Trainer) provided the support she and her team needed to achieve their great result. Thanks Julia, Alyse & John you were awesome. We would also like to thank the teams personal sponsors who make the NHL more affordable for our players we appreciated all your support. Wed also like to thank all spectators that travel south to support both teams especially the hoarding hammerers in yesterdays final. We apologise if weve missed anyone out.
