With the assembly of the engine done there is not much left to do - TopicsExpress

With the assembly of the engine done there is not much left to do except to drop it in your vehicle and get it ready to fire. The one thing that I like to do when I install the distributor is to bring the balancer around to “Top Dead Center” on the pointer for #1 cylinder and then pick the desired timing you want to start with, if you want 12 degrees BTDC, then roll the timing mark to that location on the timing tab. Then take the distributor and drop it in lining up the pointer on the rotor with the number one cylinder. Then when you install the distributor cap make sure to phase, or line up, the pointer on the rotor with the number one spark plug terminal on the cap. Now when you start your engine the timing should be at 12 degrees BTDC. Your built in advance in the distributor should take care of your high RPM timing. Tanks for reading ~ Big Dave
