With the way doomed retailers like J.C. Penney and Kmart are struggling, I fear we will soon be doomed to a shopping landscape that consists only of Walmart...and Walmart...and yet another Walmart. Even a trip to the mall will be Walmart, Walmart Food Court, Walmart Glasses, Walmart Books N Stuff, Walmart For Kids and Walmart Sports Outlet. Somewhere in the vastness of the cosmos, I picture Sam Walton saying "Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen...heh, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh." Probably with some CEO in a black suit and dark helmet standing next to him.
