With tomorrow (Tuesday October 22nd) being the last day that Empire Theatres operates, the New Glasgow location is giving back to the community one last time. Empire Theatres New Glasgow will donate 50 per cent of all revenue to The Scott Jones Foundation, to aid and support his rehabilitation and recovery from a recent act of violence that has left him paralyzed. Empire Theatres has generously supported many local charities (Kids Help Phone, Coats for Kids, New Glasgow Food Bank, Shepard’s Lunch Room, Bowl for Kids Sake, Movember, Salvation Army Toy Drive to name a few) over the last 30 years and wanted to make their last day one of giving back as well.
