Witness appeal after serious Knaresborough collision Police are appealing for information after a serious road traffic collision in Knaresborough. It occurred at around 3.10am on Saturday 23 August 2014, on Harrogate Road at High Bridge, near Mother Shipton’s Cavern and involved a blue Peugeot 207 car. As a result of the collision, the 25-year-old Harrogate man driving the vehicle, who was the only occupant, suffered a serious, but not life threatening, leg injury and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he currently remains. Traffic Sergeant Julian Pearson, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: “I am aware that there has been some speculation on social media stating that this is a fatal collision. I can confirm that although the man did suffer a serious injury, he has not died. “If you witnessed the incident, or saw the car just prior to it, I ask that you come forward and contact the police straight away.” Anyone who can assist with this enquiry should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Julian Pearson. Alternatively, information can be emailed to [email protected]. Please quote reference number 12140143345.
