Words can reinforce a certain mindset or perspective. Certain words can close or open new ways of thinking. Here are some things that Ive been working on --- Im no longer referring to local music or local artists --- Im trying to use words like Tulsa music or Oklahoma music or Tulsa-based artists or Oklahoma-based artists --- because thats the truth and thats how it is. We have many national and international artists that make music and choose to live in Tulsa or the state of Oklahoma. Local can be a great descriptor when it invokes pride and respect, but it can also limit perspective or appreciation and sometimes respect. So in the immortal words of Ali G, RESTECP! Feel free to share this mindset and perspective with me .... or not ... whatever ... just thinking about stuff
