Work to remove the so called "black noodle" emergency bypass sewage pipe from the Ala Wai drainage canal starts today thru end of August. Pipe is no longer needed says Mayor Caldwell after $40 million upgrade to sewer system in Waikiki. State health officials continue to warn residents not to swim, crab or fish from the canal which is known to have levels of contaminants by its nature.
