Working on my presentation for the talk that I will be giving at my Solo Exhibit: This is the intro... For the next hour or so, I will entertain you not with the technical aspects of what it is to take an image, the apparatuses we use, etc. because that is like not what I am about. This is not what photography is about for me. You can put expensive paintbrushes into the hands of anyone, but only an artist can mirror something... an emotion, an idea, a concept, back to the world and help people to reflect upon it. Likewise, the camera is simply a tool for expression. So this talk will be tidbits of stories, poetry, images, and a search for the meaning and symbols in fleeting moments that we live. Underscoring it all will be a hint of nostalgia, a bit how we feel when we remember how good apples or peaches used to taste, or how the grass used to feel when we walked barefoot on it as kids.
