Working on the budget for the next two months, and *gasp*, between mine and Daves two jobs each, its looking like (dare I say it?) it might NOT be a hard candy Christmas this year! My David, being the steady, reliable, following-through sort of fella that he is, figured out after we filed our taxes last year that we were paying through the teeth for badly-calculated property taxes (due to irrelevant zoning) and pre-all-the-work-weve-done-on-this-house insurance. After talking to all the powers-that-be and making several trips to city hall and scheduling visits from insurance adjustors and such, we will be saving three or four thousand dollars a year! Combine that savings with Antioch Colleges refiguring our bill (the kids both receive full tuition but we still pay a portion of their room and board) in our favor, and we are sitting pretty! That is, provided we dont have any broken-down vehicles (besides the truck thats already in the shop) or smoking furnaces or unexpected medical bills or appliances that shit the bed or escrow that mysteriously doesnt get escrowed or money earned that oddly doesnt make it onto our paychecks or and so on and so forth which is a long shot, but STILL. Ill just go ahead and say it: Happy Holidays, yall :)
