World Council of Arameans [Syriacs] Remember the Yazidi Member - TopicsExpress

World Council of Arameans [Syriacs] Remember the Yazidi Member of the Iraqi parliament who recently cried out for help? Respectfully, but remarkably, mistakenly and misleadingly, she claimed in an interview: The Christians in Iraq and elsewhere have a powerful lobby. They have the strong support of the European nations and the Vatican. But as for the Yazidis - we are just a small people. We have nobody. Nobody supports us. When a country like France welcomes the Christians (of Iraq) - their people share the same religion, and perhaps the same nationality. Excuse us, but what support? The Aramean Christians continue to be ignored and neglected. Hardly any politicians and media represent their voice, while they have barely received any humanitarian help from the international community in Iraq and Syria! Meanwhile, world leaders and the media mention the plight of the Yazidis far more often than that of the Aramean Christians. And nearly all Kurds worldwide, at least those outside of Iraq, have been demonstrating to raise the voice of the Yazidis, whom the Kurds consider as their fellow people. Moreover, the Arameans have also consistently mentioned the plight of the Yazidis and the Arameans of Midyat have just even received 500 Yazidi refugees, who now outnumber the local Arameans of Midyat! She wants all her people to go to Europe? Although a bright future for the Aramean Christians in their homeland is uncertain, this is something we dont argue for in the case of our people who deserve to build up their future in the holy land of their forefathers. https://youtube/watch?v=DSUYCgvSwRc
