World water day celebrations KCCA Kawempe Division at Makerere University he United Nations General Assembly designated March 22nd of each year as a World Water Day; the objective is to increase public awareness regarding conservation, protection and sustainable management of water resources. In order to increase the awareness and advocacy for sanitation, it was decided at the Global WASH Forum held in Dakar in 2004 to celebrate annually a sanitation and hygiene week prior to the World Water Day Celebrations. With coverage of 34% improved sanitation activities in urban centres, Uganda Focuses on sanitation and hygiene in addition to the water sector during this week. KCCA in partnership with Development Partners and Stakeholders will celebrate the World Water day on 29th March 2014 at Luzira Prisons Academy filed beginning at 9.00am but as already communicated to you, Kawempe Division has organised its events in Makerere University. As Civil Society, we are in a special way targeting this event in Makerere to begin concrete relationship with the two public institutions; MUK and KCCA. ALL RADISA MEMBERS INVITED TO ATTEND.
