Would the #media, and esepcially #science organizations (#NatGeo, #PopSci), stop advertising #StephenHawkings latest interview and theory as black holes dont exist... this is not even remotely what he said. Hes not proposing theres no #BlackHoles, but that the #physics of a black holes event horizon may be quite different than previously thought; but more importantly, we know black holes exist because weve seen them. We know theres one at the center of the #MilkyWay due to irrefutable proof that a cluster of stars at the very center of our galaxy are orbiting an object so massive that it flings these stars around it at millions of miles per hour. This object emits no light at any wavelength, but is extremely massive in order to have this affect on such a tight cluster of stars. #Hawkings latest theory to how #energy and #information are transformed at the level of the event horizon is all theoretical to the fact that #GeneralRelativity and #QuantumPhysics dont jive with one another... a fact weve known since #Einstein was alive. Hawking, among other physicists, have been trying to find a #TheoryOfEverything that bridges this gap and intertwines both theories. Although #MTheory is accepted as the closest thing to a theory of everything, it is more akin to maps of every state that overlap to form the U.S., meaning that M Theory is a collection of equations with each overlapping the other to form a cohesive understanding that intertwines the large (General Relativity) with the #molecular (#QuantumMechanics).
