Would you do all that you could to protect children and youth? Especially all of our Naduten and Wetsuweten children who are marginalized in so many ways. Every child deserves our very best. Ensuring that they have a future that is better than ours? That includes their opportunities, their access to a healthy environment, their interaction and participation in community... I will do anything and everything. Our children are vulnerable to the many scary things that get overlooked in this society that focuses solely on economic development for their immediate satisfaction and greed, while the community remains ravaged by social issues. Is money the answer to those social issues? No, I dont think so. Compassion and care can go much further. When I have children, I want them to know that as a mother I will do everything in my power to ensure they have a healthy environment, and that includes everything. Child safety comes in all forms. There are many threats to our children. Many are overt and in our face like environmental threats, others are hidden and dark and scary like predators to their personal safety.
