Wow. I can hardly believe Im reading these words: In a dramatic announcement, Dave Bruskas disclosed today that Mars Hill Church is essentially disbanding and the campus locations will merge, become autonomous churches, or cease operation. Grace, peace, and healing to all who have been harmed, abused, disrespected, and silenced, and to all whose faith was deeply shaken by the behavior of Mars Hill leadership. I know some of you personally, have grieved over your suffering, and have prayed and hoped for justice. This is not the end of your struggle, Im sure. I pray that the fall of MHC will not take down with it those redeeming truths of the gospel that were affirmed in word if not always in spirit and deed. Grace, peace, and healing to all who, despite the scandals and the wrongdoing, were still striving to serve one another with peace and love within Mars Hill churches. I know some of you as well. Im sure you have significant challenges of your own in the wake of these announcements. May the Holy Spirit cultivate churches characterized by love, grace, truth, deep community relationships, and humility.
