Wow! I cant believe its been 25 years since we said, I do. The road has not always been easy. Weve certainly had our ups and downs. But God has held us together and made us stronger as the storms of life threatened to destroy us. I dont know how couples make it who dont have Jesus as the center and Rock of their marriage. No, it doesnt mean you wont face the same struggles and hardships as other couples who dont have Jesus, but with HIM, you do have someone who wants your marriage to stay strong and endure. If your marriage is struggling to survive, why not ask Jesus to take over your hearts and your relationship? Some couples who read this may think, hey were newly weds we dont have any problems. YET! Or maybe your sailing along raising kids and running to and fro meeting their needs and fulfilling all the commitments that come with the enjoyment of having children. But what happens when their gone and leave the nest and its just you and your spouse? All of a sudden your face to face with someone you barely know anymore because, in the rat race of life, your relationship was put on hold and now theres 2 people left that are almost strangers to each other. We forget that while our children are growing, we are growing too as husband and wife, yet not together but in separate ways, IF, weve not made a point to make time for each other and keep our love strong. This is why many marriages fall apart after the children are grown up and leave home. The fire has dwindled and the, I just dont love you anymore. Its x for me to live my life. Sow my wild oats. Grab all the gusto I can before I kick the can. words are spoken and the marriage ends, much to the shock of the kids and family. It happens every day. If you love that husband or wife, fight for your relationship. There had to be SOMETHING that brought you together and made you want to commit yourself to that person for the rest of your life. Hopefully, it wasnt lust instead of love. We can have an Awesome marriage,when we do it Gods way.:-) Happy Anniversary Tony Burse!!
