Wow, San Francisco, I got David Chius hit piece on David Campos and Ross MIrkarimi in the mail. its about as vicious, dishonest, and sleazy a piece of campaign lit. as Ive ever seen. Remember to vote for Campos for the state assembly and to vote against Chiu for anything. (The piece takes Camposs vote not to depose Mirkarimi from his job as sheriff as endorsement of all domestic violence; the attempt to depose him was a creepy power move by the mayor/the Brown Machine to replace a duly elected public official with another appointee--Mayor Lee himself was an appointee who got his office in breach of the rules when Mayor Newsom went to Sacramento as Lt. Governor.) Mirkarimis crime was, while still wearing his seat belt, firmly grasping his wife Eliana Lopezs arm while she attempted to grab their kid from his car seat during an argument for a second but releasing it when she asked him to; he also turned around from the restaurant they were headed to, and the Chiu piece even lies about the charges; Mirkarimi was accused of false imprisonment for turnign the car around and heading home. It wasnt commendable behavior; it didnt merit the attempted coup and epic ruckus that the SF Chronicle and the Brown Machine kicked up. Chiu has just signed up with those entities.)
