Wow! Yesterday on the mountain was .....well let me sum it up.... Ran into Frankie and Mandy Herring so we all rode together all day. So here we go headed to the Northside, winding mountain roads, lunch at Gingers, best burger in the middle of nowhere! Over to see mr Philips, and a detour to Panther rock, back to Militia hill for a little history, down the mountain looking for an adventure...yep this is where it gets good! Drizzling rain, fighting chickens, dead end trails...you with me so far....me with no glasses, Mandy with the map. Oh and just so you know a black trail is bad bad bad! A blue trail is bad, and a g trail now thats what I like. So when they tell me we are taking g60 to g55 then on to G52 I wasnt worried....g60 gave me a heart attack! g55 was rocky and horrible. G52 was not g52 it was trail 52!! I knew I was I trouble when this guy says the shortest way out is to the right, at the bottom of the hill is where you want to be, oh and by the way it is really steep. Now steep is one thing, but I know its over for me when I pull up behind Ronnie and he says oh crap. This is where I start crying from fear!!! So they decide Frankie is going to take Mandy down in the razor, Ronnie will ride his four wheeler down, then the guys will come back to get me, so I wait......then here they come. Now I was okay until Ronnie said get in the rAzor, I need to lock your door and talk to you! He said put your hands on the bar in front of you and dont let go, close your eyes and dont open them until Frankie tells you. OMG!!!!!!!! Six flags has nothing to compare to this ride! Steep! Rutted! Off camber! OMG!!! Now its getting dark and we are still 12 long miles from the truck. Other than riding down the mountain in the dark it was pretty cool. Make a mad dash to the hotel run through the shower and off to eat Outback steaks. Good food, good friends, great day in the mountain. I now have a whole year to prepare for this ride again. I bet I take my glasses! And a black magic marker to mark the trails I wont be riding 12, 16, Panther rock and 52!! Its been good. Hubbys happy!
