Written by Bill Bowman in tribute to his wife, Jackie. He told me a story yesterday about him and Greenwood Murch (sp) and them opening that Bullhead branch downtown where my Dad eventually worked: He and Greenwood drove Bills old VW beetle to Kingman with a cashiers check of $25000 to get the cash to open the bank the next day. They drove to the Elks club and went in and left the cash in the back floorboard of the car. It was safe. The next day they opened the new Valley National Bank and at the END OF THE DAY they had over 1 million dollars deposited! Bullhead boom times! Mid 60s.
