Written by one of our admins! Yes because its my (our) American Flag! Just a piece of cloth? Not to me and all of my brothers and sisters in the armed forces. In reference to the flag burning by protesters, I guarantee you that most if not all of the Guardsmen would have voluntarily walked over and collected the pieces of the burned American flag if allowed too. Just a piece of cloth as one protester said. To you maybe, but not me. Does this protester not realize that the men and women of the armed forces have served and currently serving under that flag securing his right and freedom to protest? I spent 21 years in the Army and National Guard with multiple deployments to include Iraq. To this day, I still get choked up when I hear the National Anthem and see the American Flag!
