XPressIt needs a course in charging VAT June 25th I purchased my LG G Watch from Googles Play Store. After awhile, it arrived at XPressIt (July 8th). I went in, paid for the shipping and customs duty, and went on my merry way. Ive been using this item from then, and did when I recently went away to the states. I mistakenly left it there, whoops! Called XPressIt, verified that all I needed was an email from the person who has it that I left it and they are shipping it back. OK. Did that, sent it in, tried to get it processed online with billing once it arrived again at XPressIt. I got an email back saying, Incomplete billing request. I call them to find out what happened. Oh, you need to pay VAT on the item, excuse me? No, I brought the item through them previously, provided evidence that I left it accidentally, and so the initial customs duty was paid from last year. All I should pay is the service of shipping and VAT on that, not the item. Okay, I need to speak to my supervisor and Ill call you back. Sure. Called back, needed another supervisor to confirm, said hed call back the next day but didnt. Called back after not getting a call. Different person. Youll need to call Customs on that. OK. So I call Customs and eventually reach a customs officer (really nice guy). He confirmed that once papers are in place to prove the customs was paid prior, there is no charge again in a case like this. If it was a NEW watch, there would be, but things paid for prior or sent for repair and came back arent. OK. I call back to XPressIt, explain what I was told from Customs, get placed on hold for 15 minutes. Okay, so I tried reaching someone and I wasnt able to, can we call you back later once weve confirmed? Sure. Customs officer calls me back after confirming with peers that it is indeed correct. OK. No call back. I send someone to go and pick the item up on my behalf since I know they know how to raise hell and Im at work. I...
