Leicester took a 22nd-minute lead when Liverpool goalkeeper #Simon_Mignolet was unfortunate enough to score an own goal. #Adam_Lallana soon restored parity and Brendan Rodgers side were ahead when Gerrard, left out of the starting XI against Stoke City last Saturday, made no mistake with a calm finish after 54 minutes. Bottom club Leicester, who are now without a win in nine #Barclays_Premier_League matches, were reduced in numbers when captain Wes Morgan was sent off for a professional foul on #Rickie_Lambert. And #Jordan_Henderson converted from close range after a mistake by Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, and a superb backheel from the outstanding #Raheem_Sterling, with seven minutes to go, to ensure Liverpool made it back-to-back top-flight wins for only the second time this season. Leicester manager Nigel Pearson named an unchanged XI, while Gerrard returned alongside #Javier_Manquillo and #Lallana for #Liverpool. Schmeichels opposite number Mignolet was almost left red-faced in the 19th minute when he cleared straight to Esteban Cambiasso only for the Argentinian midfielder to sidefoot wide of an open goal from 30 yards. #Mignolet looked to have atoned for the misjudgement when he saved sharply from Jamie Vardy but Ulloa kept possession alive and his resulting shot struck the near post and cannoned in via the prone goalkeeper. Liverpool responded immediately, though, and equalised four minutes after going behind - #Lallana reacting quickest to drill a low shot past Schmeichel when Morgan was unable to head clear under pressure from Lambert. #Alberto_Moreno replaced #Manquillo for the second-half, allowing Liverpools weekend match-winner #Glen_Johnson to revert to his customary position of right-back. The Foxes pinned Liverpool back having won a pair of corners inside the opening minute of the second half but a miscued clearance by Morgan enabled the visitors to take the lead. The centre-back stretched to divert Sterlings cutback away from goal but he could only place the ball into the path of #Gerrard, who clinically steered home. Ulloa blasted off target as Leicester looked to hit back, but Morgans miserable evening was complete in the 63rd minute when he scuffed a backpass and responded by hauling down Lambert when through on goal to earn his marching orders. Liverpools nerves were eased when Schmeichel failed to deal with a low Gerrard cross and Sterling teed up Henderson to mark his 150th appearance for the club with a simple finish. Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: Its frustrating as I think we played pretty well tonight. Ive got no complaints with the way the players conducted themselves, even with 10 men. It becomes increasingly difficult to stay positive, but my job as manager is to continue working at what is a work in progress.
