Yakov Marks - Ill never forget the patrol I was on in the Kasbah of Jenin. When we came to a narrow street I saw some kid look up and give a signal I had told the driver of our patrol vehicle to throw the patrol car into reverse. Just as they threw an old refrigerator off the roof of a building and it missed me by inches as it crashed into the front of the hood. They began dumping buckets of feces and urine. I told the driver to get out of the area ASAP. All the time we were being followed by a vehicle with PRESS written on it. When we got to a clear area I got out with my team and we stopped and searched the vehicle. In the car were two Local AP and Reuters cameramen /photographers and a English Newsman, wearing a Khaffiyeh around his neck. I asked them if they recorded the incident and they replied; What incident? So I asked them to strip to their underwear to search them as a security precaution, of course. I then directed the driver to take their clothes and to clean the patrol vehicle. After thoroughly wiping the feces and urine from the vehicle we returned them their clothes. The English reporter stammered out, You expect us to wear these disgusting filthy clothes! To which I replied, What filthy clothes? I simply see that you wanted to dress in typical Arab fashion.
