Yep, I like to think the original intent behind the Komen cause was pure. And I realize people really believe these purchases, these $$$ sponsored runs, etc are really helping people with cancer or at least funding legitimate cancer research. But having had breast cancer myself, I choose not to participate in any pink October activities. And I certainly dont purchase from pink companies! Most pink foods, cosmetics, etc contain carcinogens. This organization has gone so far out of alignment with its original intent, its disgusting. What can you do for people with cancer instead? Cook them nutritious, immune-supportive meals, tidy up their homes, run their errands, take their kids to a movie or to a park for the afternoon...ask your loved ones what they need. There are better ways to give.
