Yes Mr. President, students absolutely deserve excellent teachers. President Barack Obama and Secretary Arne Duncan get it wrong by blaming all of Congress. The House already acted last July. Chairman Kline and I introduced and passed the Student Success Act to empower parents, teachers, local communities, and states to make sure students get the kind of education they need. The blame falls on Senator Harry Reid who refuses to give our bill, or a competing Senate proposal for that matter, a vote (nearly one year and counting). I encourage the President, Secretary Duncan, and CNN to give Harry Reid a call and ask why he’s playing politics with the education of our children.
