Yes and No. I wont debate the Greek. Yes, our Messiah YAHUSHUA (Christ) is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! No, you can never put HIM into something that HE was NEVER part of. The latter part of the word, mas, is derived from the late latin word missa meaning dismissal. It later on IMPLIED a meaning of mission (to go forth). So if you say Merry Christmas, you are effectively saying Merry Dismissal of Christ. It does NOT matter what is implied or what each individual person believes that it means in their heart (the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things, who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9). Just recount the story of when the great I AM had Moses lead HIS people out of Egypt. Exodus 32 The people had Aaron build them a golden calf (Which is what they wanted to associate the Great I AM with) They worshipped its physical form as they viewed it as the GOD who freed them.
