Yes, it was YOU who ran my red flashing stop sign yesterday afternoon. Yes, that was me blowing my horn, screaming and waving out the window of the school bus when you passed as students were unloading. Yes, I did get a good look at you and your license plate number. Yes, I was waiting in front of the high school when you arrived this morning. Yes, you apologized but then you quickly stated, without taking a breath, gave me the excuse as to why you ignored my flashing red lights. No, I do not believe you when you tell me the expensive 4 week driving school you just graduated from failed to mention anything about stopping at flashing red lights on a school bus. Yes, that was me who called your grand mother. Yes, that was her who came down to the school and picked up your car. Yes the SRO is also going to have a talk with you. No, you did not run over anyone. No, you did not hit the bus. No, I did not write you up or call you in to the County Police or ask that you appear in court to fight the $250 ticket. No, you did not loose points on your drivers license or have your insurance go up. Yes, you are going to have to walk and find rides for a week. May I suggest you ride the school bus to school in the morning? Yes, you will now be MORE aware of a school buses on the road. Yes, I hope and pray this was a learning experience and could help prevent a future incident that could save a life. Yes, it takes a village.
