Yesterday I found dying salmon in a salmon farm off Port Hardy - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I found dying salmon in a salmon farm off Port Hardy called Shelter Bay. After my work in Gold River and seeing the mort suckers chugging hundreds of dead Atlantic salmon out of the net pens, I have to wonder how many are dead in the Shelter Bay farm, right on the Fraser sockeye migration route. This is the farm I took to federal court to stop them and Canada from putting diseased Atlantic salmon into it. I await the judges decision. We also found piles of farm debris on small islands and a float reading Strict biosecurity measures in effect anchored at an abandoned site in entrance to the beautiful, ancient First Nation village site at Blunden Harbour. The sheer sloppy attitude of this industry, that they cannot be bothered to pick up their debris, speaks to the nature of this industry. They see BC as their dumpsite and government encourages this as they did with Polley mine tailings pond. That was no accident they were warned and just let it happen. It is exactly the same chain of events with farm salmon disease.
