Yesterday I officially left the University of Michigan. The Leaders and the Best is their saying...and it certainly holds truth! Originally from the south, I have to admit that I was a bit intimidated. Theres just history...and we all know it. However, I was taught to always keep an open mind, not be judgmental, and to treat all people with respect. Im not better than anyone. No one is better than me. Ya know? I came to Michigan by following my heart...(thats just what I do...) and now Im leaving Michigan...(again, following my heart.) My heart sometimes gets me in trouble...LOL...but theres always the bright side to everything! Ive learned so much here (just cause thats what Academias all about, right?)...learned new skills...encountered a million and one new situations...learned every personality style/trait I have and could ever have! Last, but never, ever, least...Ive made the most incredible friendships that will last a lifetime! Some of them have a long list of credentials after their names and some do not. What Ive realized is that It really doesnt matter at all...it just depends on whats inside and how seriously we take ourselves.
