Yesterday Phil & I finally, after 14 years in North Dakota, went up to the International Peace Gardens. Phil decided wed take the back roads; boy was that fun! The roads were pretty torn up and it took forever to get to a main state road. We also found out that up North they have outhouses for rest stops! We drove through the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation then into the mountain area to the Peace Gardens. It was suppose to be a nice day--boy was that a laugh--it was foggy, windy & cold. We did go through the Peace Gardens, but most of the flowers were dead or dying. They had a killing frost last week! When we left at 12:15 it was a balmy 45 degrees and we didnt have a jacket. Needless to say we didnt do much walking around. We did have a nice lunch at the truck stop! Next time we will go in warmer weather so that we can see the flower decorations and not freeze to death! It was another fun adventure in North Dakota!!!!!!!!!!
