Yesterday as I made my daily trip to the Post Office, I came upon a very heartbreaking and appalling scene. The lifeless bodies of two pit bull terriers had been placed on on the side of Powells Ferry Road. The animals were in a somewhat malnourished condition, and one still had a heavy chain and padlock affixed to a heavy collar. I am of the opinion that the dogs were staked in such a way that they could not reach any type shelter and succumbed to hypothermia from the bitter cold we have had this week. I called Sheriff Lucas and Ms Emma Crisler and they both met me at the scene immediately. Pictures were made by Ms Emma and myself and a neighborhood inquiry determined the dogs had come from outside our immediate area. To my Facebook friends, may I apologize for reporting such a depressing occurrence, but I felt it imperative that as many good people as possible should know what a low life, subhuman, air stealing, welfare grubbing, Dont know who his daddy is, SOB is walking the streets of this county. And again may I apologize for my shortcomings if I have offended anyone other than this vile perpetrator or his kindred. JBR
