Yesterday ended with a small disaster. I went to the Rabobank in Heeze, NL, to drop the cash money in the money box that is located at the side of the bank. I dropped the bag in the box, but it wasnt complete in and the rollerband did not take it in, so..... I took it up again and wanted to drop it more in the back! Than the box closed!! The shutter, a steal plate of about 2-3 mm thick with tooth, came up and I wanted to pull out my hand! But my ring got stuck behind a tooth! So I pulled but the machine closed and flattened my ring and my ring finger! Than he went up a bit so I could quickly pull a bit and the ring just got behind the tooth before he shut again, pushing down on my finger a second time witch really hurts! Than finally the machine went open and I could pull out my finger. I was too upset and went in my car as the bank closed at 4 oclock so no one was there as the doors were closed. Driving to Leende were our company is located my finger started to hurt more and more so I watched and saw my ring and removed it from my finger as it became thicker. The ring is destroyed, looks like an egg and the tooth marks are in it! My finger showed to red lines! One were my ring had been and one diagonal crossing my finger were it crashed the 2nd time. At our company I called the Rabo bank and a girl tried to get to a manager, but no one was available. One hour later they got back to me. I had to explain again what happened and she already got sick when she heard what happened. They had made the machine close quickly as they did not want that a bag could be stolen!! However, this was not what had to happen. Quick closing okay, but not this way. She is going to discus it today and will get back to me. But nevertheless, stupid to make a machine close that quick, but even than.... this should not be able to happen at all!!! I could have lost my finger or fingers! The machine should not close when there is movement in it! Or.... they should make the steal plate more rounded on top that it cant hurt that much. I also told the lady that she should try it herself and that I would watch when it closes! My husband was furious when he heard what happened and is going to call the bank again. I know they will pay for the ring, but if it can get back in shape and without the tooth marks? And what about that it even could happen!!! My finger still hurts!! Is still a bit thicker and my ring destroyed and what if you got stuck witch a bracelet and pushes your arm that hard? My veines could have been hurt and one could get a bleeding and than... but.... that didnt happen. When discussing it again late night my husband mentioned that normally the bag is transported in the machine. So probably the transporter did not work correctly!! Which made that the bag did not go in properly and made me pick it up again. I did not remember if the transporting band was working well as it happened so fast, but it can be the cause of it, as normally the bag goes in before the shutter goes down! But nevertheless this should never have happened!!
