Yesterday in Sunday School, we used salt, ice, and food coloring - TopicsExpress

Yesterday in Sunday School, we used salt, ice, and food coloring to demonstrate why its important to be faithful in Christian fellowship. God loves us whether we go to church or not. The opportunity to come together in worship is not an obligation, it is a blessing that *we* need more than we sometimes realize. When we sprinkled the salt on the ice, it didnt look as though the ice had changed very much but when we added the food color you could see the tunnels and fractures in the solid block. As Christians in a secular world, we are like the ice and the ways of the world are like the salt. We may think because we dont participate in wrong behaviors that we are not affected by the words and actions of those who do, but we are. Reflection on our everyday words and actions in a Christian context is an important part of our spiritual growth. When we come together to worship, we ask for forgiveness and strength and are renewed by the clarity that earnest humility brings.
