Yesterday, our home alarm system took her last breath. Megan saw - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, our home alarm system took her last breath. Megan saw her on the midday news one random day and immediately knew she had to go down and pick up that dog. Shes probably been the most mentally stable and non-dramatic member of our family for the past decade. She loved to chase me and scream. It wasnt barking, it was screaming and it would usually piss Megan off so much, which sometimes made me happy. She would hover over other dogs and hump them in dominating fashion, even though she lacked male or reproductive parts. She loved bananas for some reason. Once she tore into an unopened bag of food and ate what seemed like half her body weight and laid motionless for days, she never had that mechanism to tell her she was full. She enjoyed laziness at the expense of others. She was a homebody and never enjoyed the outdoors much. As we moved homes and expanded our family with another dog or children, she was still an important part of making our home. We have friends and family that cant come to our house because of her, and she was worth it. She would take all the opportunities we could give affection gladly, and she knew how to take a nap. Its hard not having ample time to devote to your dogs once kids, jobs, and responsibilities multiply. We feel happy that she was part of our lives and will miss her immensely. Sophie, if youre there, we love you and I look forward to hearing you scream again.
