Yesterday spent the whole day in BUDA, the other side of the Danube River & high up on a hill, with stunning view of Pest below. Buda was the old town, where you find the largest Kings palace in Europe, the cathedral & even some ancient Roman ruins. There is even a small changing of the guards on horseback, though not as elaborate as Buckingham Palace. Then I went to another thermal bath, this time a huge tiled swimming bassin OUTDOORS in a courtyard surrounded by a stunning baroque building, with columns and arches and towers, in a yellow color so prevalent in the baroque style & inside this tremendous old circular buildlng are about 15 other smaller pools of various temperatures all natural springs. This place is open ALL YEAR round & even in the dead of winter & snow, people swim in the very hot outdoor pool. At night the baroque building is lit up & you have the stars above as you wade in the gigantic pool. There is a second gigantic pool just next to it, reserved for lap swimmers. The whole experience is Magic.
