Yesterday was a day I wont soon forget. My sweet Evelyn turned 8. I did not get to be with her on her special day but I am confident it was a great birthday for her. In addition, Champaign flooded. I almost couldnt leave town for the wedding I had to shoot due to all the cars that were getting stuck in the flood waters. I tried to switch to the Jeep at the last minute and my husband accidentally jammed the stick shift while attempting to show me how to put it in four wheel drive. I switched back to my Explorer, leaving him in a discouraging situation. Got to the wedding after a couple hours. Assistant gets stung by bee. ( she is allergic) Shot gorgeous wedding for the rest of the evening. Got pulled over leaving reception for going 55 in a 45. No ticket. (Didnt know the speed limit) Assistant begins reacting to bee sting in car on the highway on the way home. She passed out. I get off highway. Second shooter calls 911. I administer epipen into assistants leg. Ambulance arrives. Spent next few hours in Bloomington Hospital until assistants family arrives. Get home at 1 am. Worry about pregnant second shooter who has one more hour to get home. .... Through it all, God had a plan. The way it unfolded could have saved a life. He has great timing.
