You Are a Champion “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou - TopicsExpress

You Are a Champion “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” (1 Samuel 17:45-46) God is always looking out for someone who will dare believe and act on His word. On this particular incidence, the children of Israel were at war with the Philistines, and were so terrified at the sight of Goliath of Gath, the giant representing their opponent. He was a daily threat to the whole land of Israel until a champion showed up, David, a teenage-shepherd boy, who knew the God of Israel. And he slew Goliath of Gath, bringing victory to God’s children. A champion is someone who fights for others or a definite cause. In the book of Daniel 11:32, the Scripture reads that: “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” When David saw the giant, he saw an opportunity for exploits. Champions see and do exploits, ordinary people see and do small things. But there was something special about David, before now, he was anointed (1 Samuel 16:13). 1 John 2:20 says: “But you have an anointing from the Holy One…” You are anointed by the Holy Spirit that dwells in you. There is a champion in you. The Scripture says: “Ye are of God…and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) You can no longer be small, the Greater One lives in you and He will do great things through you. When people around you are terrified by “the giants” do something about it. Remember you are anointed. Stand strong in the Word and be God’s champion for them! Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for anointing me with power for exploits. I know you as the greater One in me, and just like you’ve said, so I declare to myself: ‘Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world and glorious things are spoken of me.’ Hallelujah!
